Yes, I am very tired of these emails. They have reduced in numbers in recent years whilst scammers have hit upon other scams related to covid, the pandemic, and the cost of living.
AMazon SCAM
Although as always the Amazon Scam still goes on (someone has just made a transaction on your Amazon account for either £150 or £300 ).
BT SCAM
I still get the BT phone call claiming they are calling from internet security or broadband security.
Sometimes they tell me they are from BT Open Reach.
Well that company split and departed years ago. So, which is it? "BT" or "Open Reach". Which I usually get sworn at or a dial tone.
Sometimes, just to test the water, I tell them I am with another company and then they tell me they all use the same infrastructure. But they look after it all.
Landlines are the main target as apparently the scammers say "only old people have landlines these days" and we brits are to proud to hang up and believe every word we are told.

There's also this scam where you will get a cold call from these guys who claim to be able to get your business listed in a directory such as Google Business or some other directory. These guys will claim that they have just had someone leave their listing and are able to get you into the top 3 in google maps for your niche business area. They'll offer you an amazing reduced initial sign-up fee and a money-back guarantee and take your credit card details and will guarantee they can get you listed in the top three for your business area, location and for your product or business services.

What to do if you Get a EMAIL you are unsure about
In the first instance if it is too good to be true, (TGTBT) I ignore it. However, if I doubt myself and think this may be legit, the first thing I do is put the details into google search, I may add the sender into the search or part of the message and see what results in Google pop up!

Well yes............I am, these guys email me or my clients with false claims and promises that sometimes even my clients question.
Now, when they email my clients and then my client emails me that their website is not doing X, Y and Z then I get a bit fed up! Alot of these spam SEO emails contain incorrect or unfounded information that sometimes get people worried or questioning what I am doing and I have to explain that this is just a templated email designed to do exactly what it has done. But these guys even email me and tell me what is wrong with my website. This is where sometimes I get a little wound up and end up, either sending a rant back or I do a quick SEO check on them and their or their companies website and send them some friendly advice. THESE GUYS ARE GIVING SEO A BAD NAME BUT REALLY............! If these guys are that good surely they would be on the first page of Google. But they are not! And they are all designed to lure in customers, who will then pay them monthly for second rate services and false promises. Now if there are any legitimate SEO businesses doing this I would urge them to STOP. You are not helping the industry, stick to selling teeth whitening products or telling people they have one some sort of lottery. So to combat the email spammers I am going to name and shame these people or companies. If they are good or have any reasonably findings I shall not include their emails and details in this page.
I want to make an example of the worst of these spammers, who are blighting the SEO Industry with their spam emails and bringing a bad name to SEO. I would like to hear back from anyone who has actually used or hired a SEO company through these emails and I will post the good, the bad and the ugly.
